DJ: Mary Lu Gregg

Mary Lu Gregg
is a DJ at WAMV AM radio in Amherst, VA. Mary Lu has been a
huge supporter of Jerry's ministry. She has been behind the
last two singles that Jerry has released to radio by helping to get
these two songs charted.
She began her Southern Gospel
Music program on WAMV. In 2003 she was offered (and quickly
accepted) the position of Music Director at WAMV, with an emphasis
on the Southern Gospel music format. Mary Lu developed a popular
program she named "Artist Profile and Song" in which she features a
Gospel artist for thirty minutes of air play on Friday and Sunday
each week.
Station manager Robert Langstaff offered the
following comments about his honored employee, " Mary Lu relates in
a friendly manner with everyone - listeners, pastors, advertisers
and those who work directly in the Southern Gospel music business.
She is really dedicated, spending hours at home and the studio
working on our music. When WAMV receives a Southern Gospel song,
Mary Lu will listen to it, paying attention not only to it's sound,
but particularly its message."
Besides her duties at WAMV,
Mary Lu is also involved with various civic and charitable affairs
in the Amherst area. She is a member of the Amherst Lions Club, the
Lynchburg Chapter 196 Vietnam Veterans of America and volunteers her
time with Pal Talk.
Mary Lu Gregg is another example of the
positive thing Southern Gospel music is said to foster. She has made
various contributions to the business - in time, attendance at
concerts and her tireless promotion of many singers, musicians and
singing groups through radio airwaves.
Mary Lu is also the recipient of
the inaugural Golden Mike Award . I’m deeply honored by
it,” Mary Lu said of her Golden Mic Award "I appreciate those who
listen to me on the radio and to the radio promoters,
singers, singing groups and all others who are an integral part of my
job, But I think GOD first and foremost for allowing Southern Gospel
music to be a major part of my life."

Friends: John & Norma
Stranton Karen
& Richard Waring
 John, Richard, Karen, Norma
Jerry has the opportunity to
meet many wonderful people through his travels all across this
country. Many of those people go above and beyond the call of
being a friend. They are more like family!
Jerry met the Strattons and the
Warings in South Texas in 2005. The Strattons are from Iowa
and the Warings are from Kansas. They all are at home as
Winter Texans in Rockport at Circle W RV Park. These two
families have taken Jerry under their wing - and duped him "The
Boy".
They swap out traveling with
Jerry to his engagements throughout South Texas all winter - giving
up their time to support him and his ministry. They have
made themselves available as stage hands, office help, drivers,
sales help, cooks, and promoters - wherever they are needed.
And Richard and John have won a place in Jerry's heart forever for
making their boats available to him so that he can do his favorite
pastime - FISH! |
